MEET THE PHYSIOTHERAPY TEAM

Paul Caton

Chartered Physiotherapist

Paul’s career began working within the NHS in Glasgow.  He then moved into the world of professional sport, becoming Head Physiotherapist at Clyde Football Club, Scotland Rugby Union U18’s, Oldham Athletic Football Club, Lancashire County Cricket Team and Crystal Palace Football Club.

Paul has now returned to his Merseyside roots to become owner and practitioner at Crosby Physiotherapy.  He is also qualified to practice acupuncture.

Linda Forsyth

Chartered Physiotherapist

Linda is the most established and experienced physiotherapist at the clinic having served Crosby Physiotherapy for 20 years !!!  Always ready with a smiling face, Linda has treated and rehabilitated literally thousands of patients from Crosby and the surrounding areas to good effect and continues to do so.

Kate Wilkinson

Chartered Physiotherapist

Kate is also a highly experienced and respected physiotherapist who has served Crosby Physiotherapy for many years!  Kate has established an excellent reputation in the area for her ability to treat and rehabilitate a wide variety of conditions that are presented at the clinic.

Sally Blair

Chartered Physiotherapist

Sally has also worked at Crosby Physiotherapy for a number of years, which she combines with working within the NHS.  Sally has become a highly respected member of the physiotherapy team with a wide experience of treating all the conditions and injuries that are presented at the clinic.

Darren Harrison

Chartered Physiotherapist

Darren is the newest member of the physiotherapy team who was previously a physical training instructor with the parachute regiment in the army.  More recently, Darren worked within professional football at Stoke City and Wigan Athletic and expanded his experience by working with the Great Britain Bobsleigh Team.  He is also qualified to practice acupuncture.

CHIROPODY / PODIATRY

Rachel Ong

Chiropodist

Rachel has been practicing chiropody at Crosby Physiotherapy for over ten years.  Throughout this period, Rachel has established herself as a highly respected chiropodist with a longstanding patient list.  She combines working at Crosby Physiotherapy with her role as chiropodist to Liverpool Football Club, treating both the professional squad and Academy players.

 

ACUPUNCTURE

Mari Buri, MSc, AOM

Acupuncturist

Mary is an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine, who has recently joined the team at Crosby Physiotherapy from Seattle, USA.  She holds a masters of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University, one of the foremost Naturopathic and Acupuncture Universities in the United States.

Mary treats a wide range of acute and chronic complaints, including :- muscle and joint pain and stiffness, fertility issues, insomnia, hot flushes and night sweats, low mood, anxiety, headaches and symptoms related to cancer.

 

REFLEXOLOGY

Eileen Cheshire & Sue Hamill-Hope

Reflexologists

Reflexology is carried out by Eileen Cheshire and Sue Hamill-Hope.  It is a method for activating the healing powers of the body and uses specific techniques to apply pressure to the feet or hands which stimulate energy flow, thus restoring physical and emotional balance.

It is successful in treating a wide variety of conditions, for example :- stress, back pain, sciatica, headaches, sleep problems high/low blood pressure, IBS, infertility, fatigue and sinusitis.

 

EAR STAPLING

Sue Hamill-Hope  is also a practitioner of ‘ear stapling’.  It is a combination of acupressure, acupuncture and auriculotherapy, whereby a small surgical staple is placed at key pressure points in the ear.

 

HYPNO-PSYCHOTHERAPY

Karen Delves, ADHP (NC), FNCSAG BEd (Hons)

Registered Psychotherapist : UKCP MNRHP

Karen is a registered Hypno-Psychotherapist, who has practiced at Crosby Physiotherapy for 10 years. She specialises in the management of anxiety-related disorders, such as fears, phobias, panic attacks, insomnia and trauma counselling. She can also work with relationship counselling, smoking cessation and weight loss.

Karen also works to assist people in managing their chronic pain, through the use of hypnotic pain control methods and cognitive behavioural strategies.

There are many other problem areas that can also be worked with to a successful conclusion and these can be discussed in confidence with Karen.
